Follow Friday (19)

Q: Activity! Dreamcast your current read.

My current read:

Now there is already a cast for this book--but I have not watched the show yet because I want to finish the books first (everyone I know who has read the book has told me to finish it first then watch the show), but from everything I have heard it is well cast.

So here is my question for you: what has been your favorite book cast?
For me there are two choices:

Clark Gable is Rhett Butler--I could not imagine anyone portraying that character better!

I have a huge literary crush on Darcy as portrayed by Colin Firth!

  1. Colin Firth's P&P is the best hands down!

    1. I had a friend who tried to tell me that the Kiera Knightley version was better--but I couldn't buy it. Really, unless Colin Firth is playing Darcy it doesn't have a chance. :)

  2. Gone With the Wind casting was great!! And, yeah, no Darcy will ever match Colin Firth's!!!

    1. I almost feel bad because once upon a time I liked Laurence Oliver's Darcy--and then I found Colin Firth (sigh!). :)

  3. I will forever love Clark Gable as Rhett Butler. Perfect casting, so yummy. One of my fave casts. Though I will be honest. I loved the Hunger Games cast a lot (I'm from Kentucky, automatic bias for the leads).

    1. I loved the Hunger Games casting too! I was very impressed. Initially I had some concerns but they nailed--totally nailed it!

  4. Hopping through. Love the P&P movie. Although I like Matthew MacFadyen from the 2005 P&P better - probably because I fell in love with him on Mi5.

    1. That's the one my friend said was better as Darcy--and I just could not see it. In my head, every time I re-read P&P Darcy looks just like Colin Firth. :)

  5. Game of Thrones is extremely well cast. Considering the size of the books, I think that they've done a very good job adapting the series for TV.

And Colin Firth will always be Mr. Darcy for me. :-)

    1. I cannot wait until I finish this book so I can watch the show because when I saw the cast pictures online I felt like they were good picks for the characters I had in my head. :)

  6. I'm also trying to finish the books before watching the show, but I'm getting impatient (especially after some of the S02 was shot in Croatia, where I live).
