Question of the Week: The New Year is here -- and everyone wants to know your New Years Blogging Resolution! What are you going to try to revise, revamp and redo for 2012 on your blog?

Since I had my unplanned hiatus not too long ago--I had set some new goals/resolutions for myself then that I intend to continue with through the new year:
1) Review at least one book a week (and so far this goal has been going well so I think I have gotten into a groove that I can keep up with--I am however taking two college classes next semester so I will have to see what that does to my reading-for-fun time!)
2) Bring back my To The Movie posts which focuses on the movies based on books that I have already read.  I have been having a lot of fun going to the movies or renting movies I have been meaning to watch based on books that I loved (or at least liked as the case may be).
3) Review more short stories and/or novellas.  This has been a genre that I have enjoyed exploring more and more but I have found that it is harder and harder to find stand-alone options that fit into these categories.  I have found quite a few anthologies--but I would love recommendations on short stories or novellas that you loved.
4) The TBR Intervention.  My TBR pile is ridiculous!  I have to get a handle on it in the new year.  So I am making a pledge to get focused on my TBR pile in the new year by participating in this challenge/intervention all year long.  Hopefully, I can get through some of the really great books that people recommended for me!

Challenges...as of right now I think the TBR Intervention is going to be my only reading "challenge" for 2012, but I am interested to see what you all have set for your blogging resolutions and/or challenges.  I may find one that I cannot resist.  :)

  1. Haha! I have two challenges coming up in 2012 and I still have yet to clear my TBR pile from 2010. It's not even funny! :P Good luck with your TBR challenge!

  6. @Morganville94 I also made this goal for 2011...but I am more dedicated this year. No really I am. :)

@Shirley It really is a great group of bloggers who participates in the TBR intervenion. I think you will have fun. :)

@The Nocturnal Library I guess I am going with the go big or go home motto--at least at the start of the new year. :)

@Ajoop I love the movies posts. It has been so fun getting to catch up on the movies for some of the books I have loved. :)

  11. Great resolutions. I know what you mean about TBR piles - mine's 98 books big and counting.
Good luck with you challenge and new classes next semester.

  13. I need to do the TBR intervention as well! I read another person's blog saying they were going to review books they'd read in the past, and I think that might be a way to help you get your one a week done while you're taking two classes. Just an idea for you! Old follower stopping by!

  15. @Renu I love posting about the movies that have been made into movies. It has been fun to compare them to the books--and look and what decisions made by the scriptwriter and/or director worked and which ones did not.

@Sam The hard part is that I got GC to BN for Christmas...but I am trying to be good...TBR TBR. LOL.

@Amie It's not too late to make changes. I am enjoying reading other resolutions while I still have time to make changes. :)

@Tanya I love them and they give me an excuse to go to the movies! :)

@barmybex I don't count...it would depress me. I am focusing on it taking up less space. :)

@Stepping I hope you have a wonderful new year too!

@Lisa I have been reviewing some of the books I read in the past--particularly as they tied to my movies posts. Since my blog is still fairly new I have quite a few books I finished right before I decided to take the book blogging plunge. :)

    @Melllane thanks!

  18. Hi, Shanan, thanks for commenting on my blog!

I need to get more focused on my TBR pile, too. A book a week should be doable, don't you think?

  19. @Burgandy Thanks!

@Kirsten I think it is doable--I have a lot of commute time on a bus or train each day that I like to spend reading (or listening to an audiobook). :)

  20. Thanks for stopping by my blog! About the following thing- Do you have Networked Blogs? : ) My inbox is bursting, so I can't check all the mails to look if there is one with your name right now.

    Happy New Year!!

  21. @Patricia I do have networked blogs but I am having trouble with the authentication thing. I have tried a few times to get it to authenticate my blog as mine but I keep getting an error and I haven't had a chance to try to address the problem. :(
