Follow Friday (11)

Q: Which book genre do you avoid at all costs and why?

I do not have a genre that I avoid at all costs, but I do notice that my favorite genre seems to swift from time to time.  I will go through phases where I read almost exclusively YA and then a lot of classics and then a lot of different adult books.  So many books catch my attention that it is hard to say that I would not find at least one book in that genre that I like!

Lately, it seems to be a lot of YA books.  And I am hosting a giveaway for one of the books that I think will be my favorite for 2012:

What book has surprised you the most?  Maybe you thought you would not like it and did or maybe you thought you would love it and did not?

  2. New Follower here,

    I answered with the genre of Horror, I'm just not into getting scared all that much. Guess I'm a giant wuss. :)

    I was kind of surprised that I didn't like Nightshade by Andrea Cremer. I just read that one a couple of weeks ago. Have you read it?

  4. @Oh! Paper Pages Thank you for stopping by!

    @Mad Worm Books Horror scare me, too. But I want to read Stephen King so bad because I hear over and over again that he is a fantastic writer. But the movies of his books terrify me!

    @Celine Thanks! :)

    @demureconnoisseur I can't usually handle being scared either so you are not alone! Maybe it is because I like to read right before bed?

    @Nicola That's exactly how I feel too!

  5. Got to love the YA! Definitely my favorite type of book to read, although I'm a fan of the classics and some adult books as well =)

    I'm like you. I go from one phase to the next. I kind of do the same with the type of movies I watch. For example, I've been watching a lot of Disney movies. I don't know why, its just a phase.

  16. Hopping by :) I agree about the phases, it seems that once I get an interest in something I just hoard more like it until I get distracted by something else!
