Follow Friday (13)

Q: What would your prefer: reading your favorite book over and over again until you got sick of it OR reading 100s of mediocre books? And why?

Umm.  This is a hard question.  I am not a big re-reader.  I love to experience new books--and there are so many new books and new-to-me books that I want to read.  But I do not often find them mediocre--and if I do not like the book that much I will quit and move on.

But at the same time--I have books that I have read, re-read, and will re-read over and over again.

  2. I'm not a big rereader too (or if I reread I'll normally skip to the best parts :P) but I prefer to read my fav books all over again than to being frustrated because I hate a mediocre book:P

    1. I have been known to read certain sections of my favorite books--the ones that I need at the time that are drawing me to that book. :)

    1. But how will we know they are bad if we haven't at least tried them? And how will we find new favorites? It is such a hard dilemma! :)

    1. Very very true. When I hear people say they do not like to read I often wonder if they have just not found that genre or that book that they would love. You know what I mean?

  8. I re-read books but it tends to be the same books. Tamora Pierce books are like old friends I go back to on a regular basis. I've re-read Hex Hall.

It's not even always my favorite books, but books that remind me why I love books or that I'm just comfortable spending time with.

    1. One of my work buddies has been raving about Tamora Pierce. She absolutely loves her! One of my favorite book store people told me that Eon by Alison Goodman was excellent for Tamora Pierce fans. Have you read her?

  11. I'll have to join the re-reader camp. I'd rather read Pride and Prejudice or Edith Wharton or even one of the Harry Potters over and over than 100 bad books.
